Football may be just a foggy memory from the time back before the many snow storms and baseball is yet weeks away, but no matter. You still can follow the game by picking up a sports book at Jersey City Free Books (297 Griffith St.) this Saturday (4/8/2014) from 10AM to 6PM.
A local resident member of the greatest generation returned from war in the Pacific to enjoy a long and peaceful life as a fan of all major sports. On his recent passing, Jersey City Free Books received a large collection of sports titles that he collected. These date from the ’40s through last year. Most of the books are about Baseball and Football, but Basketball, Boxing, Hockey and Horse Racing also are represented. These — and many, many others, fiction and non-fiction — are available to all at no cost.
